I am not happy to be your enemy (if that is the case!), and I am not happy to see a presidential election affects you adversely and personally like that!
Enemy/friend? patriot/traitor? I wish life have black and white situations like the way you describe in your post! It will be much easier for all of us!
I think that as human beings in this complex world we have the tendency to abstract complex events to fit our narratives, and often times without enough understanding and appreciation of other people's different opinions about these same events!
After the event, reflexive thoughts about ourselves with respect to the events will improve our assessment skills for future events. It not about other people and it is not dependent on other people's opinions, it is up to us to select the way we perceive the world, with our independent thoughts about the event!!!
