Nhưng trong tiếng Anh, những cái phrases đó đều nghe rather insulting. The reason is because we're attacking personal/core courage and value of a man. It strongly hurts the ego, therefore it feels insulting to the person.
Nói "người này không có bản lănh" is a mild (put down) judgement but less of an attack on the ego. So the equivalence may be "he lacks courage and maturity".
Colloquially, a common phrase to describe someone like that is "he's a pussy" (this is, of course, even more insulting than "wimp" or "chicken").
